Special note: The middle name is thought to be "Belle" in Jefferson county genealogy sources and it is used that way on her official death certificate record on file in the Recorder's office at the Jefferson county courthouse (this contributor looked at it first-hand for inscpection), but there are listings on Ancestry.com trees that use "Bell". Clarification would be appreciated - the name "Belle" is much more feminine and seems most likely to be the proper spelling, but those that used "Bell" on their Ancestry family trees may have other family information for clarification, which would be appreciated.
--------
Wife of Charles A Anderson, married on October 27, 1887.
Cora and Charles had two children of their own: Pearl Elizabeth (a/k/a Elizabeth Pearl in some sources) Anderson Angstead, and Otto C. A. Anderson.
A John Ross Archibald (/a/k/a Ross Archibald; brother of Cora) was married and he and his wife lived near Abingdon, in Jefferson county, Iowa. Their daugther, Goldie May/Mae Archibald, was born on March 24th, 1901. Evidently the mother of Goldie began to have health problems shortly afterwards, and Goldie was allowed to live with Charles and Cora Anderson to be raised. The mother died when Goldie was less than four years old - Goldie was then formally adopted by Charles and Cora; and Cora continued to raise Goldie after the death of Charles Anderson in 1908. Goldie's own health declined as she was in her mid-teens, and on January 4, 1920 Goldie passed away from tuberculosis of the bone. She, and her adoptive parents, are buried in this same plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa.
See the memorial for Goldie for her full obituary.
There are several family trees on Ancesty.com that include Cora Belle Archibald; some have photos of her and her family, most have varying degrees of family members accounted for.
It is hoped by this contributor that the memorials for those that are buried in Evergreen cemetery will help any of those related to the Anderson/Archibald/Angstead families, et al.
