Father of William A, Alice Armilda Hughes Knipe, James Reagan Hughes (died at 3), Henrietta Elizabeth Hughes Banister(Aunt Rettie is buried in Carlsbad NM)and Walter McCasland Hughes (buried near Albuquerque, NM). Nancy Jane was buried in Royse City Cemetery, Rockwall CO, TX, after she died of lung disease at 29 years of age following 10 years of marriage and five children. This is my paternal great-grandfather, for whom my father was named. All my life I was told the name was Suttle, but the bible pages where William recorded Lawson's birth appears to be written Settle instead, so I list him that way. Every reference that I find for Lawson has his name recorded as Lawson S. Daddy's birth certificate and military records show Francis S. only.
