A Shelby County Tax List for 1840 shows Charles Thompson as a land owner with 160 acres of land.
The Shelby Democrat reported in its Thursday, December 22, 1892 edition, "Charles Thompson died at his home in Noble township at 4 pm on Friday, December 16, of Bright's disease, aged 82 years.
