E.T.N. Alford Passed Away, Tue.
Word was received here thru a telephone message from Stacy Alford to H. D. turner that Mr. E.T.N. Alford, an early settler in this community, had passed away in Barnard, Mo. Tuesday night.

The Alfords lived in Cairo for many years, but since the death of his wife in Nov. 1941, Mr. Alford has spent most of his time at Barnard with his three sons: Stacy, John and Edward.

Funeral services will be held in Cairo Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. further arrangements are not complete at this time.

Funeral Services For E.T.N. Alford
Friends and relatives gathered at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon to pay their last respects to Mr. E.T.N. Alford, who passed away suddenly, having been found dead in bed Wednesday morning at the home of his son, Stacy. Rev. E. C. Staley, pastor of the Methodist church at Shelton was in charge of the service. Miss Deralea Grossart, accompanied by Mrs. R. R. Thompson, sang three hymns: "My Faith Looks Up to Thee", "Face to Face" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Pallbearers were H.D. Turner, John Veeder, G. C. Raven, Robert Thompson, William Waddington and John Moore. Burial was made in the Cairo cemetery.

Obituary.
Mr. Edward T. N. Alford, eldest son of Mr. Charles L. and Sarah Alford, was born at Oelwein, Iowa on August 13, 1863, and passed away at the home of his son, Stacy, May 19, 1943 at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 6 days.

He came to Nebraska with his parents at the age of ten, where they homesteaded one mile south and a quarter miles east of Cairo where he grew to manhood.

He was a graduate of Peru Normal in 1888.

On August 23, 1888 he was united in marriage to Ellen Frances Scott and for a number of years he and his wife taught school in Hall county after which they moved to the farm one mile south and three-quarters of a mile east of Cairo.

In 1923 he and his wife moved to Cairo where they resided until his wife's illness and death.

After his wife's death he made his home with his sons in Missouri.

He leaves to mourn his passing his three sons, John of Marysville, Mo. and Stacy and Edward of Barnard, Mo. and their wives and four grandchildren, Robert and Bertha Ann and Thomas and Mary Francis. His wife and a daughter, two sons and one brother preceded him in death.
