She was born December 17, 1903, in Gallatin County to Noah Bennett and Lydia Dale. She received her schooling at Springhill and Lincoln schools. She married Oran Callantine in 1920, and they lived in the valley and raised four children. She later married John Bareither in 1952. She lived her entire life in the Gallatin Valley and friends said her life revolved around her many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1968; three grandsons; two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Staat of Manhattan and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Burns of Beaverton, Ore.; two sons, Wayne Callantine of Brookings, Ore., and Francis Callantine of Hartford City, Ind., six sisters, Mrs. Erwin (Eveline) Mitchell of Bozeman, Martha McGuire of Bozeman, Mrs. Homer (Lillie) Thompson of Bozeman, Mrs. Jeff (Sue) Dorsey of Bozeman, Betty Conner of Three Forks and Mrs. Bill (Sarah) Hopkins of Jerome, Idaho; two brothers, Oz Bennett of Bozeman and Ted Bennett of Miles City; 16 grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
