Mr. Harold Dean Adams, age 74, of Vannoy-Maxwell Road, Purlear died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stamper and the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday night.
Mr. Adams was born in Wilkes County, on December 2, 1938, to Dewey and Genie Wood Adams. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Dean Adams; one sister, Joyce Dancy; three brothers, Roby Adams, J. D. Adams, Wayne Adams.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Margaret Jane Templeton Adams of the home; one daughter, Jodi Lynn Adams Lewis and husband, Carlos of Purlear; four grandchildren, Bradley Lewis, Brianna Lewis, Jessica Adams, Coty Adams; three sisters, Bobbie Benge and husband, Junior of Millers Creek, Carol Stroud and husband, Louis of Columbia, SC, Faye Hendren and husband, Lester of North Wilkesboro.
