CHARLES BURDICK , of Rock Falls was laid to rest in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rock Falls Friday afternoon, following the funeral service at 2:30 o'clock in the home of his niece, Mrs. George Gerdes of West Sixth Street. The sermon was preached by Rev. Harry E. Shiffer of the Rock Falls Christian church. Pallbearers were Mayor Gus Hansen, E. L. Longfellow, Wallace Limond, Robert Nicol, Lee Harper and Fred Compton, all of Rock Falls.

Charles L. Burdick, son of Timothy and Ellen Aiken Burdick was born in Grand Detour, Ill., Jan. _th, 1856 and passed away in the home of his brother-in-law, Robert Harper in Rock Falls, April 5th 1933, age 77 years, two months, 28 days. He spent the early years of his life in and around Grand Detour. When a young man he moved to Rock Falls with his parents. He followed the trade of masonry and cement work. In Sept. 1891, he was united in marriage to Bessie Harper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harper of Rock Falls. She passed away Feb. 1st, 1923.

He was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Edna Burdick, Kate Barr, Mary Luther, Martha Burns, John, James, Edward and Andrew, and others who died in infancy. Mr. Burdick is survived by one brother, Will Burdick of San Francisco, Calif., and a half brother, Warren Burdick of Rock Falls, several nephews and nieces and many friends who mourn his passing. Mr. Burdick made his home in Rock Falls for many years. He was loved and respected by many.
