MRS CORNELIA BARR DIES IN CLINTON, IOWA
Sister of Burdick Brothers of this City Has Passed Away
Mrs. Cornelia Barr, formerly of Rock Falls, died at an early hour this morning at her home in Clinton, Iowa. She had been ill for six months. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning in Clinton and the remains will be brought to Rock Falls for interment in the Rock Falls cemetery.
Cornelia Burdick was born fifty-six years ago. She lived in Rock Falls during a part of her early life. She was married to Captain G. W. Barr of Clinton, Iowa. He died about a year ago and the decedent leaves only one son to mourn for her, besides the following brothers and sister: Charles, Edwin and Warren Burdick of Rock Falls, John Burdick of Union City, Tenn.; A. J. Burdick of San Francisco, Cal., and Mrs. William Burns of Davenport, Iowa. [Omitted was William Burdick of San Francisco, Cal.] Mrs. Barr was a loving mother and kind sister and the bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in their time of sorrow.
Cornelia H Barr is buried at Coloma Cemetery (formerly IOOF) at Rock Falls, Illinois. Her grave is Plot Section 15, Lot 28, Grave 3 of 8 and marked with a large red BARR headstone. She rests between her sister, Ellen Edna Burdick, and brother, Charles Lorin Burdick.
Her twin brother, Cornelius H Burdick, drowned 12 Aug 1862 and is buried in the family plot at Grand Detour, IL **
