Parents: Lithuanian immigrants Nikodemas & Theodora (Barvydaite) Kulikauskas. Mike was christened with his original Lithuanian name Nikodemas Kulikauskas, making him a "Jr." His parents are buried in Riverside Cemetery in Albion under the names of Mike & Theodora Kulikowski. Mike was raised in Albion, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s in northern lower Michigan. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines. His photograph is found in a group of men on page 422 of the October, 1942 issue of National Geographic Magazine. The caption reads, "We Don't Know Where We're Going, but We're on Our Way!" Mike is just left of center holding a knapsack over his right (viewers left) arm with a soldier slightly crouched in front of him. Mike served in the 119th Field Artillery. After the War, Mike was employed for 15 years wtih Shepherd Products, and retired in 1986. He was a life member of the Comstock VFW Post #6252, and was a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master of the Comstock Masonic Lodge. Spouse: Margaret A. Thomas, married February 23, 1945. (she died in 1987). Note: Mike's sister Theodora (Kulikowski) Schascheck is also interred in Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery.
