Glenn W. Teeter, 75, of 1 Selma Ave., Homer, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 1988, at the SUNY Health-Science Center in Syracuse after a brief illness.
Mr. Teeter was born in Ithaca. He had lived in McGraw before moving to Cortland. In 1978, when he retired, he moved to Homer. He had worked as a carpenter for various construction companies. He was a member of the Ithaca Local No. 1019 and for many years was its financial secretary. He also was an avid fisherman. He attended Homer Avenue Methodist Church.
He and his wife, Mary Snow Teeter, who survives, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gordon Teeter of Sarasota, Fla., and Russell Teeter of Cortland; a daughter, Elizabeth Teeter Conway of Cortland; eight brothers, Richard Teeter, Herbert Teeter and Amandus Teeter, all of Ithaca, Donald Teeter and Franklin Teeter, both of Florida, Harvey Teeter of Marathon, Edwin Teeter of Cortland, and John Teeter of Burlington, N.J.; five sisters, Ann Sladish and Mable Rundle, both of Ithaca, Mytre Tafoa of Jacksonville, N.C., Florence Teeter of Germantown, N.J., and Mary Seifert of Rumsey, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Bertini Funeral Chapel, 69 N. Main St., Cortland, with the Rev. Howard Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral chapel will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Homer Avenue Methodist Church in Cortland or to a favorite charity.
