Would you please paste in the following bio for Thomas, my 2nd great grandfather. Thank you. J. Keith Cook in Omaha.

Thomas and wife Elizabeth emigrated from Ohio to Iowa in 1857. They are buried 10 miles south of Knoxville, IA in Olive Grove Chapel Methodist Cemetery. "Kate" (Deliah Catherine) is the youngest of the 10. In 1905 only 4 of their 10 children were still living.

Elizabeth's age is a question because in the 1870 census of Marion County, Iowa, Indiana Twp. she is shown as age 55 and Thomas age 58. She is shown there as a native of Pennsylvania, and he of Ohio. At that time only children George and Deliah (Kate) were living at home with them.

They emigrated from Ohio to Iowa in 1857. Thomas was a farmer. The July 18, 1860 census for Indiana Twp, Marion Co., Iowa shows Thomas to be age 47; Elizabeth to be 46, son John 21, daughter Elizabeth J. 15, Phillip 13, George Edward 9 and Kate 2. Thomas and Elizabeth were among the early settlers of Clinton County, Ohio. In 1888 Elizabeth was living in Nebraska. Thomas and his sister Delila married children of Mr & Mrs Philip Cline II. The 1840 census shows the family in Richland Twp, Clinton Co, OH. The 1850 census shows Thomas age 37 and the family in Wayne Twp, Clinton Co, OH.

Some Hallam family members moved to Warren County, Iowa in 1852. It appears that Thomas and Elizabeth Antrim followed them in about 1857. Thomas was on the Indiana Twp, Marion County, Iowa tax rolls in 1866 being taxed on 40+ acres of land valued at $310, plus personal property valued at $152. Thomas and Elizabeth were married by Justice of the Peace Stephen Evans. Consent was given by his mother and her father.

Olive Grove Cemetery is sometimes called Round Grove Cemetery because there used to be a school there called Round Grove. Buried in row three. Thomas died at 12:00 o'clock the night of his death. Another record says that Thomas died 1 March 1872, but I have personally seen his tombstone, which says he died 8 July 1875. Tombstone reads: "Thomas, Husband of Elisabeth Antrim, died July 8, 1875, aged 62 y, 11 d." Burial is in Olive Chapel (a country Methodist Church) a little over 3 miles due east of Gosport, Iowa in Marion County.
