Kate and her husband Ed (Willis Edward Cook, buried at Carlisle, Iowa) farmed with their five young children just west of Silver Creek, NE. She died of cancer in the Columbus, NE hospital. Ed could not afford a grave space so asked her brother George Edward Antrim if Kate could be buried on his farm, 1 mile south of where Ed and Kate lived. Ed Antrim, instead paid for a space next to spaces for himself and his wife. So Kate and her brother Ed and his 2nd wife are buried together in the center of the Silver Creek cemetery. The cemetery is about 1/2 of the way between Silver Creek and the farm where Kate and Ed Cook lived. Following the death Ed Cook loaded up his goods and his five young children in a covered wagon and moved back to Iowa. Her children: Archie, Alfred (buried in Ord, NE), Charles, Elizabeth and Harriet.
