Eunice Irene Torrance was the oldest daughter of William Sinclair Torrance and Mary Jane Whitcomb. She was born at Milwaukie, Clackamas County, in what was then Oregon Territory.

Irene married Quinland Dimond in Whitman County, Washinton, on January 29, 1878. Quinland had a large farm at Diamond station, some nine miles west of Colfax. Sadly, Irene died at the age of 29 and left no children. She is buried at Colfax Cemetery outside the town.

After her death, Quinland remained in the area. On June 5, 1889, he married the widowed Mary (Sherman) Wiseman. At one time their farm property and orchards included nearly 500 acres.
