Rev. V. A. Calvin, 91, long-time Guymon resident, died Nov. 13 at Dunaway Manor in Guymon. The son of C.C. and Viola R. (Brazell) Calvin, he was born on Jan. 15, 1904, in Markley, Texas.
He was an evangelist with the World Bible Way Fellowship for 45 years.
Rev. Calvin married Oleta Scott in 1968 in Woodward, moved to Guymon from Clovis, N. M., in 1968 and attended the Foursquare Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Calvin of Brandenton, Fla., Donald Calvin of Austin, Texas, Tim Calvin of Abilene, Texas, and Mark Calvin of Goodwell; four daughters, Robia Rice of Stinnett, Texas, Roberta Mitchell of Tulsa, Cindy Mitchell of Oklahoma City and Ruthy Calvin of Roswell, N. M.; one brother, Cyrus Calvin; and three sisters, Inez Hathcox, Vera Bashline and Lelia Langford.
Funeral services were conducted Nov 16 at the Foursquare Church with Rev. David Stone, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon under the direction of the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
