She had lived in Brighton for close to 60 years and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church for that same time. She worked at an Air Force Base in Kansas as a mechanics helper. In her earlier years she worked as a switch board operator for Mountain Bell. She had spent many years raising her family until her children were in school. She then worked as a baker for Brighton 27J School District for ten years. She also helped operate the family business from the VFW to the Upholstery shop and the Old Alley 3.2 bar.
Survivors included: daughter Mildred (Richard) Pearson of Brighton, Sarah Anderson of Centennial, son Arthur (Lesli)Unrein of Morgan, Utah, son Gene (Kathy) Unrein of Ft. Lupton, daughter Shirley Schissler of Brighton, daughter Linda (Lee) Russom of Brighton, son Phillip Unrein of Commerce City, sister Lola Mae Gant of Morgington, NC, ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded by her husband in 1994, son Kenneth in 1973, and two sisters and one brother.
Rosary held December 30 at Tabor Rice Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was December 31 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Memorial contributions made to Almost Home, 231 N. Main Street, Brighton 80601-1628.
