John Calvin Grant, age 68, a resident of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, February 05, 2009 at his home.

Mr. Grant was born February 7, 1940 in Knoxville. He has lived in Oliver Springs since early childhood.

John served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War and worked as a taxi driver before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Dewey Grant and Edna Mann Grant and by a brother Arthur "Buddy" Grant.

John is survived by a sister, Lillie Aiken and husband Rev. Willie Aiken of Oak Ridge, by two brothers, Ulys Grant of Oliver Springs and Glenn Grant and wife Nancy of Oak Ridge.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville with Rev. Tommy Aiken officiating. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online guest book is available at www.sharpfh.com
