Clarks Mills Woman Dies At Home, Burial Saturday
Mrs. Wolfgang Meyer, 74, of Clarks Mills, mother of Louis Meyer of this city, died this morning at the home in the village. She has been ill since February. For the last 20 years she, with her husband, has been living a retired life at Clarks Mills.
The maiden name of the deceased was Lena Vogel and she was born in the town of Cato. She grew up there and 59 years ago was married there to Wolfgang Meyer. They took up their home on a farm in the town of (Illegible)continued to reside until they retired.
Besides the husband, five daughters, Mrs. Louis Vogel and Mrs. Fred Reitmeyer, Cato; Mrs. Frank Doubek, Clarks Mills; Mrs. Carl Wagner, Deerfield, Ill., and Mrs. August Meyer, Clarks Mills; four sons, Wolfgang Jr. of Andale, Cal.; Louis of this city; George of Cato; and Joseph of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Krueger of Montabella,
Cal., and a brother, Anton Vogel, of Whitelaw, survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the home and at 9 a.m. from the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Clarks Mills. The remains will be removed to the home on Thursday.
