Mart E Corbin, 80, of 64 S 28th St, a resident of Battle Creek area since 1946, died yesterday afternoon (Jan 13, 1965) in a local hospital where he had been taken by ambulance only minutes before. He was stricken at his home. Death was believed due to a heart attack. Mr. Corbin had been employed at the old A-B Stove Co, at Community Hospital and at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in maintenance and kitchen work. He retired in 1955 when his health began to fail. Mr. Corbin was born March 27, 1884 in Rising Sun Ind, son of Bassett L and Mary Belle Vanosdol Corbin. He was married three times. Two wives preceded him in death. His last marriage was to Clara Naomi Snyder in Tiffin Ohio April 17, 1936. She survives, in addition to two daughters, Mrs. Hobert (Betty) Patterson of 1744 Beadle Lake and Miss Alice Louise Corbin of the 28th St address; two grandchildren; three step-children, none of whom live in the Battle Creek area; three brothers, Albert of Vero Beach Fla, George of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Amos of So Charleston Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Alice) Walker of 323 W Goguac St. and Mrs. Winfred (Emma) Drury of 897 E Michigan Ave. Two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Corbin was a member of the Birchwood Methodist Church.
