Heart Trouble Claims Newton Resident
John Corbin Passes Away At the Dr. Smith Hospital After Years Illness
John Franklin Corbin, a resident of Lawrenceburg IN for the past five years died at the Dr. Smith Hospital Tuesday (Nov 29, 1932) at 1:30 PM. Mr. Corbin had been in ill health for about a year and quite serious since the eighteenth of last August, suffering from heart trouble. He was the son of Bassett and Mary VanOsdol Corbin. He was born in Ohio County Oct 15, 1881. On March 12, 1906 he was married to Rosa Glissman at Guilford, by Rev Wm. Posey. Mr. Corbin came to Lawrenceburg from Cold Springs where he had farmed for almost nine years. For a number of years he lived in Bonnell and was employed as section hand on the Big Four railroad. He is survived by his widow Rosa Corbin, his two daughters, Mrs. Ansel Walker and Miss Jessie Corbin of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, five brothers, Martin of Columbus Ohio, George of Gallipolis OH, Albert, William and Amos of Springfield OH, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Walker and Mrs. Emma Drury of this city, one sister Mrs. Jesse Trester preceded him in death. Mr. Corbin was affiliated with the Mt. Hope Methodist Church at Bonnell and was a member of the K. of P Lodge at Centerville and the Junior Order at Dillsboro. Funeral services will be held Fri at 1:30 pm at the Holiness Church by Rev Edward Schoeff. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
