Romney – Marvin "Tom" Maphis, 59, of 401 West Rosemary Lane, here, died yesterday at his residence. He was co-owner of the Maphis Distributing Company, here.
He was a son of Mrs. Mary E. (Beatty) Maphis and the late John H. Maphis. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1371.
He is survived by his widow, Louise (Davis) Maphis; two sons, William B. Maphis, and John T. Maphis, both of Winchester; six brothers, Isaac W. Maphis, Dailey L. Maphis, and Garland "Gene" Maphis, all of here; Paul M. Maphis, Cumberland; Allen C. Maphis, Clarksburg, W. Va., and Rev. Robert W. Maphis, Richmond; and a granddaughter.
The body is at the Shaffer Funeral Home, here, where friends will be received today until 9 p.m.
Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Ronald R. Brooks. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, here.
