Lillian L. Kanitz, 94, of Tuscola passed away at 10:13 a.m. Tuesday (June 25, 2013) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
She was born on March 26, 1919 in Arthur, the daughter of Walter and Lucy Sefton Smith. She married Loyd R. Kanitz on June 1, 1947. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charlie Smith; twin sister, Lilly Kanitz and sisters, Ruby Cordulack, Bonnie Ryan, Gladys Yaw and Rosemary Donaldson.
Surviving are her children, Dale (Cathy) Kanitz and Judy (Wayne) Steffen; grandchildren, Eric Kanitz, Shane (Heather) Kanitz, Jeremy (Annie) Kanitz, Kristi Karcher, Elizabeth (Vivek) D'lima, Katelyn (Jim) Carter and Ashley (William) Smith; great-grandchildren, Maya D'lima, Ella D'lima, Lacey Kanitz, Bailey Kanitz and Kinzie Kanitz; nephew, Eddie Smith and wife Gracie and niece, Nina Jones.
