Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Smith, 85, Arthur, who died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday (September 30, 1961) at the Hilltop Nursing Home at Charleston will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Arthur.
Rev. Kenneth Plummer will officiate, assisted by Rev. James Singletary. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery.
Visitation began at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith has resided at the nursing home for the past 2 1/2 years.
Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 6, 1875 in Fayette County, Daughter of William and Julia Stevens Sefton. She was married to Walter P. Smith on Oct. 26, 1898.
She leaves a son, Charles P. Smith, Arthur; six daughters, Mrs. Lilly Canitz, Arthur; Mrs. Lillian Canitz, Tuscola; Mrs. Ruby Cordulock, Chicago; Mrs. Bonnie Ryan, Mattoon; Mrs. Gladys Yaw, Champaign; and Mrs. Rosemary Donaldson, Donovan.
