John was born on Jan. 9, 1930, the son of Benjamin and Catherine (Martin) Gokey.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Gokey; children, Michael, Patrick, Susan, James and Shari; grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan and Catherine; and siblings, Agnes and Teddy. He was a friend and coach to all.
The Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
