Benjamin J. Gokey, age 76, lifelong resident of Reserve, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, at the Wisconsin General Hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Gokey was born at Reserve on March 20, 1886. On Sept. 8, 1908, he was united in marriage to Catherine Martin at Reserve. He had been a carpenter all of his life, retiring from active work several years ago. he was a member of St. Francis Solanus Mission Church.

Survivors include his wife; eight daughters, Mrs. Marcella Guibord and Mrs. Loretta Huddleston, Milwaukee, Mrs. Pauline Isham of Reserve, Mrs. Marie Corbine and Mrs. Izetta Ulry of Minneapolis, Mrs. Agnes LaRonge of Hayward, Mrs. Isobel Weiss of Milwaukee and Mrs. Georgina Schmidt of Unity, WI; six sons, Benjamin Jr., Emil, and Theodore of Milwaukee, Gregory of Minneapolis, Ignatius of Sunnyvale, CA, and Mike of Reserve; 37 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Della Jones of Madison.

Recitation of the Rosary was held at the family residence Tuesday evening. Funeral services were conducted from St. Francis Solanus Mission Church Wednesday morning with the Rev. Fr. Laurus Rhode officiating. Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery.

The Koerpel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
