Biography
Maxine M. (Heider) Brierly, 80, of Lostant, passed away, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 10:15 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Leonore with Rev. William Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant. Additional visitation will be from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brierly was born April 7, 1933 in rural Tonica to Henry and Louise (Arnez) Heider. She married Elmer "Dean" Brierly on January 17, 1951 in Streator. He passed away October 20, 2001. She worked at the Bull Heads Restaurant in Lostant and also at the Leonore Post Office. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Leonore. Maxine volunteered at IVCH, Lilly Pads, and the Lostant Feast. She was an avid Cubs fans and card player.

She is survived by her children, Raymond (Yong) Brierly of Lostant, Keith Brierly of Onalaska, WI, Cary (Cheryl) Brierly of Lostant and Virgil (Janie) Brierly of Rural Tonica; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 3 brothers, Russell Heider of Streator, Eugene "Snick" Heider of Lostant and Alan (Joyce) Heider of Streator; 4 sisters, Doris Barr of Lostant, Janet (Harlan "Lucky") Strode of Lostant, Jo Anne (Robert) Henderson of Geneseo and Donna Smaling of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Richard Heider and Roy Heider.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tom Bradfield, Crystal Brierly, Reilly Sluder, Daniel Brierly, Philip Brierly, Ragan Sluder, Jenna Brierly, Amber Cimei, Aaron Cimei.
