Everett E. Long, age 76, died of a sudden heart attack early Sunday morning at the National Hotel, where he had been residing. Services are set for 3 pm this Tuesday November 3rd at the Davis Mortuary. Interment will be at Bayside Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Stannard will officiate.

Mr. Long was born May 18, 1894 in Sturgeon Bay to Henry and Delphinie (Griffin) Long and lived in Door County most of his life. He served with the medical corps in the United States Army during World War I.

On August 15, 1947, he married Zella nee Randall Weda who died September 8, 1962.

Survivors include one step-daughter Opal (Leonard) Westfall of Peru, Illinois, nieces and nephews.

Everett Long, having worked 16 years at Kellogg's and several years for the Swoboda Hotel and Meyer Klass, he has decided to establish a business of his own, a restaurant and gas station located on Highway 52-57 next to The Mill. He purchased the building that housed Klass furniture store and moved it across the highway. It will be called "Hunter's Paradise" and feature groceries, ice cream, candy, tobacco and other items.
