FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. MAPLES
Services were conducted Saturday from the Stephenson Funeral home and from the Methodist church for Mrs. George (Nora) Maples Sr. who died last week Wednesday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Peterson.
The Rev. George Warren officiated, and a quartet, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Bailey, Henry Maples and Mts. Charles Kaiser, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Richard McLaughlin, sang. Six nephews, Clifford Augsberger, Donald Glass, Clarence Simon and Fred, Dewey and William Maples Jr., served as pallbearers. Burial was at Bayside.
Mrs. Maples was a life long resident of this county. She was born in Sevastopol March 21, 1866, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Long. One of the older members of the Methodist church, she was long affiliated with the Ladies Aid and Women's Foreign Missionary society. On April 28, 1883, in this city, she and Mr. Maples, who preceded her in death a few years ago, were married.
