Barbara A. (Schlenz) Wisdom, 74, of Sterling, died July 13, 2009, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Vigil and Rosary will be 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Tennant Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow celebrating.
She was born March 26, 1935, to Herman and Clara (Lousberg) Schlenz. She grew up in St. Peters area and grad uated from Fleming High School in 1953.
In September of 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Wisdom.
She worked at St. Benedict Hospital and Hecker Pharmacy. She was in the first graduating class of the cosmetology school at NJC and worked for a time at Glenda's Beauty Shop. In 1983, she started working for B&J Plumbing.
Mrs. Wisdom enjoyed family, friends, sewing, volunteer ing and a variety of hobbies. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Circle, Altar and Rosary Society, Hospitality Committee and Home Hustlers Homemakers Club.
She is survived by husband, Robert; son, Steve and wife Rhonda of Sterling; daughter, Sandi Fletcher of Sterling; granddaughters, Kern Wisdom of Padroni, Shanna Wisdom of Houston, Samantha Wisdom of Sterling, Haley Fletcher of Denver; brother, Don Schlenz and wife Rosemary; sisters, Marilyn Wernsman and husband John, Judy McMillan and husband Jerry, Arlene Drinkwine and husband Marvin; sister-in-law, Janice Heaston and husband Woody; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Delores Felt, Florene Lock and Lila Monat.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
