Marylin Wernsman, 76, of Sterling passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Sterling. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 am Friday, Nov. 25 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am with Father Ken Koehler celebrating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10:30 am.

Marylin was born on March 16, 1940 in Sterling, CO to Herman and Clara (Lousberg) Schlenz. She went to St. Peter’s grade school and Fleming High School. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper for John’s Construction Company, and worked at Carol’s Chair Boutique. She married John Wernsman on January 31, 1959 at St. Peter’s. They were married for 57 years.

Marylin was very involved in St. Anthony’s Church her entire life. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, taking care of grandkids, and shopping. She also loved watching football with John and going to Blackhawk.

Marylin is survived by her husband, daughters, son and their families, sister, and brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Clara Schlenz; five sisters: Delores Felt, Lila Monet, Florene Lock, Barbara Wisdom, and Arlene Drinkwine.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marylin Wernsman Memorial Fund to support Alzheimer’s patients and their families, PO Box 95, Atwood, CO 80722.
