(1872 - 1944)
William J. Rohrer, 71, retired patternmaker foreman at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company, died at his home, 1901 Marshall street, Friday noon after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, at 8:30 from the home and at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rev. John Landowski officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Rohrer was born in this city March 29, 1872. On July 5, 1897 he was married to Miss Ella Mrotek. He was a veteran employe at the shipyards and was a patternmaker foreman until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters Court No. 473.
Survivors are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Theresa Hauser of Milwaukee, Miss Marcella Rohrer and Mrs. Cele Scholten, both of this city; four sons, Alois, Francis, Joseph, and Paul all of this city; two brothers, John and Sylvester Rohrer of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Drumm, city, Mrs. Anna Wernette and Mrs. Al Solverson, both of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Robert Cross of Santa Cruz, Cal.; and nine grandchildren. Two children preceded their father in death.
The body was removed to the home from the Pfeffer funeral home this afternoon and may be viewed at the home until the time of the funeral services. The rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
