Francis W. Rohrer, age 82, formerly of 1030 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, February 28, 1994, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am. Wednesday, March 2, 1994, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

He was born September 29, 1911, at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Ella Mrotek Rohrer, Mr. Rohrer was a graduate of Lincoln High School, with the class of 1931, and was a lifelong Manitowoc resident. He married the former Tillie Seidl in 1936 He worked as a ship fitter, patternmaker, woodturner, and cabinet maker at the Manitowoc Shipyards and the Burger Boat Company. He had also operated the Rohrer Wood Working Company with his brother Joseph, and crafted many pieces of fine furniture for his family and friends. Mr. Rohrer was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Lakeshore Beagle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Tillie Rohrer; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Roger Wykes, Ann Arbor, Mich.; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Rohrer, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Margaret Weas, Algoma; nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alois and Joseph, and five sisters, Gertrude Franzen, Pauline Bodus, Theresa Hauser, Cecelia Scholten and Marcella Rohrer.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Father Roman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or St. Mary’s Home.
