L. J. "Que" Cady, 73, of Whitestore, died October 2, 1990 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. he was born Dec. 4, 1916 in the Town of Oxford, son of Leeman and Ruth Ingraham Cady. On Dec. 4, 1935, on the family farm in Whitestore, he married Belle White, who survives.

Mr. Cady had been a life-long resident of Chenango County and had resided at his Whitestore address for 50 years. Following his education in the Oxford schools, Mr. Cady worked initially for Scintilla, Sidney and later for Bennett Ireland Corp., Norwich and the Case Machinery Co., Oxford. He subsequently worked for 16 years for the NYS Dep't of Transportation, serving for many years as foreman for bridge repairs.

Mr. Cady had a life-long love for fishing and hunting. He attended the First Baptist Church of South New Berlin and he was active in the Oxford Fire Department.

Besides his wife, Belle Cady, he is survived by one daughter/husband, Virginia and Thomas Meade; four sisters/husbands Mabel and Frederick Foote, Marie and Clifford Ross, Lora and Derwin Jones, Doris and Kenneth Potter; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Cady and Mabel Cady; five grandchildren/spouses Thomas and Janice Meade, Terry and Kelly Meade, Barbara, Donald, and Michael Meade; four great-grandchildren: Todd, Ashley, Jennifer Meade and Amanda Ackerman. He was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Howe and two brothers: Raymond and Lawrence "Skip" Cady.
