JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mr. M. E. Blanchard, 84, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Masters will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and 8 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Mr. Blanchard died at 11:08 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

A native of Delhi, he was a resident of Jennings since 1945. He was a graduate of Epps High School, Northeast Junior College and Louisiana State University. He was a retired ag teacher after 36 years in Jefferson Davis Parish schools. He was a former member of the Jennings Rotary Club and member of First Baptist Church and the adult 3 Sunday school class.

Survivors include two sons, Mac Blanchard of Lake Charles and Dr. John David Blanchard of Fayetteville, Ga.; one sister, Mary B. Nettles-Tallulah; two brothers, John E. Blanchard of Mansfield and M. Jack Blanchard of Vicksburg, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grand-children.

Pallbearers will be Brad West, David Cormier, Stewart Cormier, Scott Blanchard, Dustin Bullock and Tommy Oliver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lou Gaudet, Bud Britt, Ken Chelette and Dr. Arlen Hanchey.
