EPPS (Special) — Mrs. Mattie Peyton Blanchard, 81, died Sunday night at her home here. She had been a resident of Louisiana since 1903 and was a native of Sartartis [sic Satartia], Miss.

Survivors include a daughter in West Monroe.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Epps Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Basil Halbert, officiating, assisted by Rev. R. C. Wilbanks, pastor of the Epps Methodist Church.

Interment will be in Delhi Masonic Cemetery under direction of Gays Funeral Home of Delhi.

Surviving are five sons, R. R. Blanchard of Rayville, Harry Blanchard of Springhill, Jack Blanchard of Vicksburg, Miss., Marion Blanchard of Jennings and John Blanchard of Bastrop; seven daughters, Mrs. Eulah B. Girgsby [sic Grigsby] of Epps, Mrs. E. L. Wallace of Tallulah, Mrs. W. C. Windham of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Fred Beckett of Monroe, Mrs. Edith Broussard of Baton Rouge, Mrs. O. C. Smith of New Orleans; Mrs. Louis Nettles of Tallulah; three brothers, L. D. Peyton of Bentonia, Miss., Jesse D. Peyton of Winnsboro, C. S. Peyton of Jonesville; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Chapman of Pocahontas, Miss.; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Windham, E. L. Wallace Jr., Charles Boyd Smith, Dewitt Beckett, Louis Nettles Jr., Gayland Whatley, Jack Ciscoe and Tommie Christian.
