Born March 19, 1881, at Hannastown, Pa., he was the sone of George and Delilah Blystone. A former resident of Nowrytown, Pa., hw was by occupation a miner and a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
Survivors beside his wife, Bertha (Boyer) Blystone, 13 children, 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
Surviving sons are Lawrence and Everett, Canton, Ohio; Homer, Gibsonia; Lloyd, Kittanning RD 1: Emmet, Leechburg; James Jr., Shelocta RD 1. A son Arthur is deceased.
Daughters are: Mrs. Wilbur (Laura) Donaldson, Indiana; Mrs. Erwin (Harriet) Sheasley, Shelocta RD 1; Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Spindler, Mercer; Mrs. Jonathan (Mildred) Boyer, Rural Valley RD 1; Mrs. Frank (Grace) Elioo, Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Darold (Helen) Reckhart, Sarver; and Mrs. Raymond (Leila) Smeltzer, Monroeville.
Also surving are a sister, Mrs. John (Daisy) Wilmot, Apollo; and three brothers: Elmer, Shelocta RD 1; Jasper, Leechburg RD; and George, Vandergrift.
Services will be conducted at Elderton Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, with Rev. William E. Shaffer, Elderton, officiating.
Friends may pay theire respects at Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, from 7 to 10 p.m. this evening, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Elderton Cemetery.
