Irene Florence Bennett, daughter of the late Benjamin R. and Lillie Mae Robinett Franklin, was born on July 15, 1925 in Wright County, Missouri, and departed life on June 14, 2005 at her residence in Macomb, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 79 years, 10 months, and 30 days of age. Irene grew up and attended school in Wright County and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School. She was united in marriage to Maney Bennett on March 6, 1944 in Mtn. Grove. Six children were born to this union. They raised their family and made their home in the Macomb Community all their lives. Irene enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, crocheting and going to yard sales. She also enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flower gardens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed attending the Norwood Assembly of God Church as long as her health permitted. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, Clifford, Loyd, Elmer, Bobby, Raymond, Elvin, Rex, Roy, and George; by three sisters, Elva, Thelma, and Barbara; and by two grandchildren, Tammy and James Gray. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Maney Bennett of their home; four sons Bobby Bennett and his wife Donna of Norwood, Missouri, Donnie Bennett and his wife Margie of Joplin, Missouri, Ronnie Bennett of Macomb, Missouri, and Randy Bennett and his wife Tammy of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Wilma Gray and her husband Lloyd of Fulton, Missouri, and Pat Blackwell of Amarillo, Texas; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
