He married Katheryn Burke of Canton on Oct. 30, 1930 in St. Mary's Church. She died on April 2, 1978.
Surviving were six sons, Charles A. Jr., Canton; Arthur D., Madrid; Donald J., Pierrepont; Clarence E., Joseph P., and Leo J., all of Canton; seven daughters, Mrs. Milton (Elizabeth) Acra, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. James (Eleanor) Cassoni, Jr., Carthage; Mrs. Ruth Robar, Potsdam; Mrs. Roswell (Sharon) Simmons, Aneram, NY; Mrs. Michael (Karel) Mace, Canton; Mrs. Everett (Janet) Aldous, Canton and Mrs. Raymond (Katheryn) Fountain Jr., Pyrites; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Cardinal, Potsdam and two brothers, John and Kenneth, both of Canton.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Anne, in 1939, a sister, Mrs. Vera Ames Murphy, and two brothers, Leo and Stanley.
