Claude Banks, 87, of Brookville, Indiana, passed away Friday, Jun. 28, 2013 at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
He was born Apr. 3, 1926 in Owsley Co., Ky, to Andrew Jackson & Lola Thomas Banks. He married Edith Peters on Sept. 20, 1947 in Brookville, & she preceded him in death on Apr. 23, 1999.
Claude was a WWII Army Veteran, & retired after many years of service in the maintenance department for Hill-Rom. He enjoyed his family & fishing.
Those left to honor Claude's memory include; sons, Douglas Banks of North Carolina, & Dan (Teresa) Banks of Brookville; daughters, Beverly (Mike) Singer of Brookville, Carolyn (Wayne) Miller of Milan, Theresa (Dan) Morefield of Richmond, & JoAnn (Randal) Beesley of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; & one brother, Vernon Banks of Milford, OH.
Besides his parents & wife, he was preceded in death by sister, Opal Kruthaupt, & brothers, Elmer & Ralph Banks.
Friends may visit with Claude's family from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, Jul. 2, 2013, at Cook Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors performed by American Legion Bernard Hurst Post #77.
