Bette Rees

Bette Lou Keith Rees, 94, of Catawba, NC, left this earth on Dec. 12, 2013 to be reunited in Heaven with Charles, her husband of 52 years. Born Aug. 19, 1919 in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late William and Opal Carpenter Keith. She worked at Timken Roller Bearing for 41 years. For over 45 years, she was a member of the West Broad Church of the Nazarene, where she taught generations of preschool kids in Sunday school. There has never been a child born that she wouldn't reach out to and try to hug or comfort. She was always known for her quick wit and was never left speechless without a comeback.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; three brothers; one sister and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Chet, and Billy Bob; and four sisters, Bertine Stevens, Anne Lemoine, Alice Noon, and Mary Helen Funk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Wayne F. Beard officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemeter, Glouster. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
