She married John Hugh Bertram when she was 20 in October of 1895, and they lived in Toronto. John was the son of a prominent business man who started in the hardware business. John became the head customs officer for the port of Toronto. They were parents of three sons, George, Fred and John. She was a very smart and glamorous dresser, and always beautifully turned out. Elderly family members recall her fantastic hats! She died unexpectedly while recovering from appendicitis surgery.
She is buried in the Bertram family plot in Toronto. Her husband John ended up buried in Florida!
