The deceased came to Adams County with her parents in the year 1879 and lived on the old farm one mile southwest of Brooks. On November 4, 1886, she was united in marriage to Dr. John Samuel Peregrine of Brooks, Iowa and to this union one son Carl Joseph was born. She is survived by her son and one stepson, Corrie M. Peregrine, the latter of Milwaukee; one step-son Charles E. having preceded her in death in 1916. She is survived by five brothers and four sisters. The brothers are; Ben F. Brown of Prescott, Iowa, Muir Brown of Brooks, Iowa; Edward Brown of Clearmont, Missouri; Arthur Brown of Lewiston, California. The sisters are Mrs. Emma Gates, Gravity, Iowa; Mrs. Rhoda Walker, Orange Cove, California; Mrs. Sadie Meek, New Boston, Illinois, Mrs. Goldsmith, Corning, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Woods of Adams County, another sister, Mrs. Mattie Hubbard, is deceased.
Mrs. Peregrine died after a brief illness and leaves a large number of relatives who will miss her smile and a vast number of friends who will cherish her memory.
