Juliana Schwan, 89, died Thursday in a local hospital and funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at the Holland and Bonine Chapel at 7 p.m. Monday.
Mrs. Schwan was born in Odessa, Russia, Dec. 20,1894 and came to the U.S. in 1899. She was married to Anton Schwan in 1911.
They homesteaded north of Rudyard in 1913 and retired in 1945. He died January 14,1960 and a son Joseph died in 1983.
Survivors are six sons, Andrew Schwan Rudyard, Jack Schwan, Havre, Paul Schwan, Havre, Franch Schwan, Lothair and Bernard Schwan, Renton, Wash., eight daughters, Eva Falla, Conrad, Mary Hall, Havre, Sister Antonita Schwan, San Gabriel, Calif., Julia Schwan Havre, Tillie Miller Tulare, Calif., Aggie Malarchick, Glendive, Pauline Laeupple, Havre and Theresa Houim. Spokane, 33 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
