Havre--Jacob "Jack" Schwan, 76, died Wednesday of natural causes at his home. Funeral services at 10am at St Jude's Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

He was born June 21, 1915, in Goldstone and was a farm laborer. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

On March 19, 1941, he entered the US Army and served as a machine gunner attached to the 75th Tank Battalion in Europe. He was discharged in 1945.

Survivors include sisters, Eva Falla of Conrad, Julia Schwan of Havre, Aggie Schwan of Ronan, Pauline Lauettle of Havre, and Theresa Houim of Spokane; brothers, Andrew of Rudyard, Anton of Havre, Frank of Lothair and Paul of Havre. Schwan was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, and three nephews.
