The death of Alfred Beattie, of Francis street, Kogarah, at the age of 72 years, on Empire Day, removes a member of a well known North Wagga family of the early life of Wagga. The family had a vineyard, and produced some high quality wines, and at one time had a business in Fitzmaurice street, Wagga.
Mr. Beattie was for some years in business in Junee. The funeral took place in the Methodist portion of the Woronora cemetery and was largely attended.
