Leslie B Cornett 62 of Columbus died at 5;34 pm Friday March 9 2001 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday at Pickett Funeral Home with the Rev Ron Nridgewater officiating. Calling is from 4 to 8 pm Monday. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.

Mr Cornett was a member of First Christian Church of North Vernon where he coached youth basketball. He had been active with Young Democrats and youth baseball. He retired in 2000 from Cummins Inc. after 30 years of service. He was also a real estate broker and auctioneer and a member of the Muscatatuck Board of Realitors.

Born in Whitesburg Ky Dec 4 1938 he was the son of Ike and Ola Caudill Cornett. He married Pauletta Estep May 30 1999 in Columbus. she survives. Other survivors include a son Brain Cornett of North Vernon, two daughters Lisa A Risley of Columbus Ohio and Carla Sue Sarver of Columbus, seven grandchildren; three brothers Gale Cornett of Las Vegas, John Cornett of Commiskey, and Mark Cornett of Scipio; and six sisters Betty Jean Barlett of Commiskey, Elizabeth Ebbings of Hayden, Carolyn Holley of Seymour, Kathleen Holley of Columbus, Linda Spurgeon of Scipio and Wanda Wilson of North Vernon.

He was prededed in death by three brothers, Pascal, Thomas and Billy Cornett.
