Peggy Jean Qualls was born December 18, 1926 in Grand Tower to Roy and Emma (Ellet) Nimmo. Her siblings include Middy Burns of Oakland City, Indiana; Phyllis McLachlan of Fort Myers, Florida and Laverne Nimmo of West City. She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and Roy Eugene.

She married Freddie Qualls on Sept. 19, 1943 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1996. Her children include Roger of Ashland City, Tennessee; Ken of DeSoto; Larry of Davie, Florida; and Gene (who preceded her in death).

Peggy was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Assembly Church in Grand Tower. She was a homemaker. Her life revolved around her family and church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and special grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Qualls died at the age of 74 at St. Joseph memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
