Canton-John F Desmond, 63, died very suddenly at his home near West Potsdam on Tuesday evening at about 7:30 o'clock.
Mr. Desmond was born in North Lawrence in Sept. 20, 1881, a son of the late Mary O'Connor and John Desmond. He married Mill Ella Hill at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam many years ago, and the couple made their home on a farm near West Potsdam. Mrs. Desmond died about 34 years ago.
He was a member of Sarto Council 1059, Knights of Columbus, Canton and of the Potsdam Grange.
Surviving are three sons, Charles, at home, Robert, Burhhams Corners, and Darwin, Wassaic; one brother, Augustus, Thiells; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Dunn of Thiells and Mrs. Agnes Parkinson, both of Waddington. and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 9:15 o'clock from the family residence and at St. Mary's Church in Canton at 10 o'clock. Burial will be made in the family plot in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Brasher Falls.
