Mary A Desmond died Wednesday afternoon at the home of her son, John, Potsdam Road, with whom she had resided for twenty years. Death followed a critical illness of a few days. Funeral service was held Friday morning at 10:30 from St. Patrick's church Brasher Falls, Rev. John Cotter, pastor, officiating at a requiem mass. Burial was made at Brasher Falls.
Mrs. Desmond was born in Kingston, Ont., Oct. 23, 1850, a daughter of Daniel and Bridget Trainor O'Conner. She came to Northern New York with her parents about sixty-five years ago. She was married to John Desmond, who passed in 1895.
Remaining are two sons, John Desmond, Potsdam; Augustus, Matteawan; five dauthers, Mrs. Arthur Ames, Canton; Mrs. A. J. Parkinson, Waddington; Mrs. William J Dunne, New Haven, Conn., and Misses Helen and Anna Desmond, Potsdam; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Palmer, Walkill; Mrs. Edna Flood, Kingston, Ont., Mrs. John McDonald, Gananoque, Ont.
