CENSUS: 1830 Cabell Co p 6 Josiah Bicked two 30-40y, 4 children.

CENSUS: 1840 census shows 7 boys and 2 girls living in household.

DEED: Vol 11 p 560-1 Josiah and Henrietta of Rome, Lawrence Co Aug 1 1843 sold to John Beckett. Vol 12 p 206 Josiah of Rome (no wife listed) Feb 17 1848. These notes sent to me by Della Smith.

CENSUS: 1850 Union Twp Lawr.Co p387 Joseph 51 Henrietta 50 and Lafayette 20 VA, Solomon 16,Elizabeth 12, Lavonia 23 and Lucetia 1.

MARRIAGE: Joseph Beckett m. 2nd Elizabeth Susan McCown on March 19 1858 in Lawrence County, OH.

CENSUS: 1860 Lawrence Co, Windor Twp. Josiah 61 VA, Elizabeth L 32 VA, David 2, and John J 2/12. He was a gunsmith

DEATH: Given in father's Bible.

NOTES: From a letter in 1892 from Andrew L Beckett to his nephew Martin K Beckett (son of Josiah) Martin said 3 of the 9 children of his father were living. His sister Sarah having died recently.

He had 8 known children Sarah, James, Martin K, Marquis Lafayette, Frances, Solomon, William H. and Elizabeth Beckett by Henrietta King. He had 3 known children Thomas David, John J. and Bethely B. Beckett by second wife Elizabeth McCown. After Josiah's death, she married in 1863 to Zephaniah Oliver.
