IRA FORD HOYT
Ira Ford Hoyt, chief agent in charge of the New York Passport Bureau of the State Department, died yesterday in St. Francis Hospital, the Bronx, after a brief illness. He was 66 years old and lived in Parkchester, the Bronx.

Mr. Hoyt was born in South Norwalk, Conn., and before entering the employ of the State Department twenty-four years ago, had operated a theatre in Derby, Conn. He was a charter member of the Derby Lodge of Elks.

He leaves a widow, Mrs Jane Larkin Hoyt; a son, Ira M. Hoyt, and a daughter, Mrs. Cecilia Hoyt Maloney.

Additional Information:
Ira Ford Hoyt served as the Connecticut State Representative from Derby, serving from 1907 to 1908. The Derby theatre mentioned in his obituary was the historic Sterling Opera House.

The obituary does not mention a daughter, Mary Larkin Hoyt, who predeceased her parents. She died on October 18, 1909 at the age of 6, or his granddaughter, Martha Cecilia Maloney Keilty, who died on October 6, 1955 at the age of 23.

Front of Larkin monument faces Grove Street, not center walkway. All family members buried in plot are listed on the headstone (front and side), with exception of Jane Larkin Hoyt, her name was never inscribed.
